Group Finance Director

Seeking an experienced Group Finance Director to lead and scale our finance operations function across a complex, fast-growing multi-market clean energy group.

As an Abu Dhabi-based leader in distributed renewable energy, we serve over 15 million people across 12 countries. Our finance infrastructure must match the pace and ambition of our growth — and this role is central to making that happen.

Group Finance Director |6 months (Interim-to-Permanent)

The Opportunity

This is a newly created, senior leadership role, initially offered on an interim basis (6 months) with a potential pathway to a permanent appointment. You will take ownership of group finance operations across the organization — bringing structure, rigour, and scalability to a business operating across 12+ markets and multiple legal entities.

What You'll Do

• Lead Group Finance operations: Own end-to-end finance operations across the group, including payments, treasury, accounts payable/receivable, bookkeeping, and financial administration for all entities.

• Build & Scale Systems: Design and implement scalable finance operations frameworks, SOPs, and internal controls fit for a high-growth international business.

• Multi-Entity Oversight: Oversee financial administration across group holding entities (UAE, Mauritius) and operating subsidiaries across Africa and beyond.

• Treasury & Cash Management: Lead group-wide cash flow management, FX oversight, and banking relationships across all operating markets.

• DFI & Lender Reporting: Ensure finance operations are aligned with obligations under our DFI and debt facility agreements, including covenant compliance and drawdown processes.

• Systems & Technology: Drive adoption and optimization of finance systems (Odoo) to improve accuracy, efficiency, and reporting quality.

• Team Leadership: Build, mentor, and manage a high-performing, distributed finance operations team across multiple locations.

• Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors across all entities; ensure timely and accurate statutory reporting and regulatory filings.

• Executive Partnership: Work closely with the CEO, Group CFO, finance leaders, and country finance leads to align operations with group strategy.

Who You Are

• A seasoned finance operations leader with 15+ years of experience, including significant exposure to multi-entity international structures.

• CFO experience or demonstrable CFO readiness is a strong advantage

• Proven track record of building and scaling finance operations in a high-growth, multi-market environment.

• Deep expertise in treasury, payments, AP/AR, and financial controls across complex group structures.

• Experience working with DFIs, development finance, or impact-driven organizations is a strong plus.

• Hands-on and execution-oriented — equally comfortable setting strategy and rolling up your sleeves.

• Experienced with ERP systems; familiarity with Odoo is an advantage.

• Exposure to African markets, emerging market FX, or off-grid energy is highly desirable.

• Fluent in English; additional languages a plus.
