High-level Job Purpose Statement:
The Group Head of Procurement is responsible for developing and leading the overall procurement strategy for the group, ensuring alignment with the organization's long-term business objectives. Operating at the group'sholding company level, this role provides strategic direction, governance, and oversight to the procurement functions across all subsidiaries, driving efficiency, cost optimization, supplier performance, and risk management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
- Develop and implement the Group-wide procurement strategy, policies, and frameworks in alignment with corporate goals and compliance standards.
- Lead the centralization, harmonization, and digital transformation of procurement processes across the group.
- Provide strategic guidance to subsidiary procurement heads to ensure consistency, transparency, and best practices across all entities.
- Identify and execute strategic sourcing initiatives to optimize group-wide spending and leverage economies of scale.
- Manage and oversee strategic contracts & procurement activities.
Governance and Policy Management
- Establish, review and maintain the procurement governance frameworks, including standard operating procedures (SOPs), approval matrices, and compliance mechanisms.
- Ensure procurement activities are compliant, and adhere to ethical, sustainable, and regulatory standards.
- Implement effective risk management and supplier assurance processes across the supply chain.
Supplier and Stakeholder Management
- Lead strategic supplier relationship management (SRM), focusing on key group-wide vendors and long-term partnerships.
- Negotiate high-value, group-level contracts and framework agreements.
- Foster strong collaboration with internal stakeholders including Finance, Operations, Legal, and divisional management teams to ensure alignment with business needs.
Financial and Performance Management
- Develop and manage the Group Procurement budget and oversee procurement spending performance across subsidiaries.
- Drive cost savings, value creation, and process efficiency, ensuring measurable impact on profitability.
- Establish and monitor KPIs and dashboards to track procurement effectiveness, supplier performance, and compliance.
People Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team at group level.
- Build capability across subsidiaries through training, coaching, and knowledge sharing.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and collaboration within the procurement community.
Requirements:
Qualifications & Experience:
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Finance, or a related field. Master's degree.
- Professional Certification: CIPS, CPSM, or equivalent professional procurement qualification preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive procurement experience, including at least 5 years in a senior leadership role within a diversified group or holding company.
- Proven track record in strategic sourcing, category management, and procurement transformation.
- Strong experience in managing multi-country and multi-sector operations is an advantage.
