Role Summary
The Wiring & Harness Senior Designer is responsible for the design, development, and modification of aircraft electrical wiring harnesses and associated documentation. The role includes producing electrical schematics, harness definitions, and supporting engineering changes within the aircraft electrical system architecture.
Key Responsibilities:
Design and update aircraft wiring harnesses and electrical schematics
Develop and maintain wiring diagrams, harness layouts, and connection tables
Define electrical components including:
o connectors
o splices
o backshells
o wires and cable bundles
Update engineering drawings following design changes or configuration updates
Ensure compliance with EWIS standards and aerospace regulations
Collaborate with:
o electrical system engineers
o installation teams
o manufacturing engineering
Support engineering change requests (ECR/ECO)
Manage documentation and revisions within the PLM environment
Provide technical guidance to junior designers where required.
Required Skills:
Strong experience in aircraft electrical wiring design
Knowledge of EWIS (Electrical Wiring Interconnection Systems)
Experience producing electrical diagrams and harness definitions
Familiarity with aerospace wiring standards
Tools / Systems Typical tools include:
CATIA V5 Electrical Harness Design
Zuken E3 / Capital / E3 Cable
ENOVIA or other PLM systems
Experience:
610+ years in aerospace electrical wiring design
Experience supporting aircraft development or modification programs
