Role Description The Haute Couture Pattern Maker at MOONMAINS will transform creative design concepts into precise patterns for luxury garments, ensuring exceptional fit, structure, and finish. This full-time, on-site role is based in Sharjah and involves close collaboration with designers, sample makers, and production teams. Day-to-day responsibilities include drafting, draping, and adjusting patterns for couture pieces; interpreting sketches and technical specifications; and creating pattern layouts that optimize fabric use while preserving design integrity. The Pattern Maker will conduct fittings, refine patterns based on feedback, and ensure alignment with MOONMAINS high standards of craftsmanship. The role also includes maintaining pattern libraries, documenting measurements and alterations, and supporting continuous improvement in cutting and construction techniques.

Qualifications

• Strong pattern-making skills for haute couture, including drafting, draping on dress forms, and grading for different sizes.
• Proficiency in garment construction techniques, including tailoring, hand-finishing, and working with delicate or complex fabrics.
• Ability to interpret fashion sketches and technical drawings and translate them into accurate, production-ready patterns.
• Attention to detail in fit, balance, and garment structure, with a keen eye for precision in seams, darts, and design lines.
• Experience with fabric behavior, fabric cutting, and layout planning to minimize waste and maintain design integrity.
• Knowledge of couture standards and luxury fashion practices, ideally with experience in high-end or bespoke womenswear.
• Effective collaboration and communication skills for working with designers, sample rooms, and production teams.
• Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize deadlines, and maintain organized pattern records and documentation.
• Relevant technical training or diploma in fashion design, pattern making, or garment technology; formal haute couture training is an advantage.
• Previous experience in a couture or high-fashion atelier, especially in Sharjah or the broader region, is highly beneficial.
