Job Description
Chief Accountant | Doha, Qatar
Location: Doha, Qatar
Preference: Candidates currently residing in Doha with transferable visa/NOC (if applicable) will be given priority.
Key Responsibilities • Manage and oversee payroll processing and WPS compliance to ensure timely and accurate salary payments. • Lead month-end and year-end closing activities, including accruals, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. • Maintain and control the Fixed Assets Register, ensuring proper capitalization, depreciation, transfers, and disposals. • Prepare financial statements, management reports, and variance analyses. • Ensure compliance with IFRS, company policies, and local regulatory requirements. • Coordinate with auditors and support annual audit processes. • Supervise General Ledger, Accounts Payable, and Accounts Receivable functions. • Drive process improvements and strengthen financial controls.
Requirements • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum 8-10 years of accounting experience, including experience in a senior accounting role. • Strong hands-on experience with: • Payroll & WPS • Month-End Closing • Fixed Assets Accounting • General Ledger & Financial Reporting • Advanced SAP ERP user (FI/CO preferred). • Expert-level Excel skills, including Pivot Tables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP, Power Query, dashboards, and financial modeling. • Strong understanding of IFRS and financial controls. • GCC experience is highly preferred. • Professional certification (CPA, ACCA, CMA) is an advantage.
