Head of Business Development
Location: Riyadh, Saudi Arabia
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer
Job Purpose
The Head of Business Development is responsible for generating new revenue across Health & Benefits and Commercial Risk, identifying new market opportunities, driving strategic growth initiatives, developing sales capabilities, and maximizing cross-selling opportunities.
Key Responsibilities
New Revenue Generation
- Own annual new business revenue targets across all business lines
- Develop and execute sales and growth strategies
- Expand market share and business penetration.
Business Development Strategy
- Define and implement business development plans.
- Develop strategic growth initiatives and sales campaigns.
- Build a sustainable pipeline of opportunities.
Market Development
- Identify emerging market opportunities.
- Analyze industry trends and competitive activity.
- Develop partnerships that support growth objectives.
Cross-Selling Identification
- Proactively identify cross-selling opportunities
- Collaborate with H&B, Commercial Risk, and Client Management teams.
- Monitor conversion and revenue realization.
Sales Leadership
- Lead proposal, tender, and pitch activities.
- Drive sales excellence and opportunity management.
- Improve conversion rates and win ratios.
Team Leadership
- Lead the Business Development function.
- Build a high-performance sales culture.
- Develop future business development leaders.
Governance & Reporting
- Maintain pipeline governance and sales reporting.
- Provide market intelligence and growth forecasts.
- Report revenue performance to the CEO

HR & Talent Management
- Talent acquisition and development
- Succession planning
- Performance management
Compliance
- Ensure compliance throughout business acquisition processes
Finance
- Revenue forecasting.
- Budget management.
- Sales performance reporting
Information Technology
- CRM optimization.

- Digital business development initiatives
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Insurance, Finance, or related field.
- MBA preferred.
- ACII or Dip CII preferred.
- Professional qualifications in sales, business development, or strategic account management are advantageous
Experience
- 12–15+ years in insurance, consulting, financial services, or business development.
- Demonstrated track record of generating substantial new revenue.
- Extensive experience leading sales and growth functions.
