Vice President, Originals

We're partnering with a leading global media and entertainment organisation to appoint a visionary Vice President, Originals.
This is one of the most influential content leadership roles in the region, responsible for defining and delivering a premium slate of original programming across Arabic and Turkish markets, while identifying international co-production opportunities
Reporting directly to the Chief Entertainment Content Officer, you'll lead the creative strategy, commissioning and execution of scripted and unscripted originals that drive audience growth, subscriber engagement and commercial success
From premium drama series and feature films to documentaries, entertainment formats and stand-up specials, you'll oversee the development and delivery of world-class content from concept through to launch
What you'll be doing
- Define and execute the Originals content strategy across Arabic and Turkish programming.
- Lead the development, commissioning and production of a diverse slate of scripted and unscripted content.
- Build strong relationships with leading production companies, studios, writers, directors and creative talent across the region and internationally.
- Identify and negotiate strategic co-production partnerships to expand the reach and impact of original programming.
- Evaluate new project proposals and guide investment decisions based on creative quality, audience demand and commercial viability.
- Partner with Programming, Creative, Commercial, Operations, Legal, HR and Finance to ensure successful delivery and launch of original productions.
- Own production budgets, financial performance and overall investment strategy.
- Present content recommendations, production updates and strategic plans to executive leadership.
- Inspire, mentor and develop a high-performing Originals team across multiple territories.
About you
You'll be an established executive within the premium television, film or streaming industry, combining creative instinct with strong commercial acumen.
You'll bring:
- 15+ years experience within premium entertainment, production or streaming.
- At least 10 years leading scripted long-form content development or production for a studio, broadcaster or OTT platform.
- A proven track record commissioning or producing successful scripted and unscripted content.
- Deep knowledge of the Arabic content landscape, with Turkish market expertise considered a significant advantage.
- Strong relationships with production companies, studios, creators, writers, directors and on-screen talent.
- Experience managing multi-million-dollar production budgets, commercial negotiations and complex contracts.
- Excellent understanding of audience insights, content investment strategy and subscriber growth.
- Fluency in English and Arabic, with conversational Turkish highly desirable.
