Job Summary
The Head of Corporate Communications provides strategic leadership for Ju Eng Home's corporate communications, branding, stakeholder engagement, fundraising communications, community outreach and public profile.
The role is responsible for developing and executing an integrated communications strategy that strengthens Jeh's reputation, communicates its mission and impact effectively, supports fundraising and community partnerships, and ensures consistent and professionalmessaging across internal and external channels.
Working closely with the CEO, senior management and department heads, the role serves as the organisation's communications lead and supports JEH in building trusted relationships with residents and families, donors, volunteers, community partners, government agencies, media and other stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
1. Corporate Communications Strategy
- Develop and implement JEH's overall corporate communications and stakeholder engagement strategy.
- Translate JEH's strategic priorities, programmes and achievements into clear and compelling communication messages.
- Develop annual communications plans, calendars, campaigns and key performance indicators.
- Ensure communications initiatives are aligned with JEH's mission, values, strategic direction and organisational priorities.
- Advise the CEO and senior management on communications matters.
2. Corporate Branding & Reputation Management
- Lead the development and consistent application of JEH's corporate identity and brand standards.
- Ensure consistent messaging, tone and visual identity across corporate materials and communication channels.
- Strengthen JEH's public profile and organisational reputation.
- Monitor issues that may affect JEH's reputation and provide appropriate communications advice.
- Support crisis and incident communications where required.
3. Media & External Communications
- Serve as the key coordinator for media enquiries and external communication matters.
- Develop media releases, corporate statements, speeches, talking points, articles and other official communications.
- Identify opportunities to promote JEH's programmes, achievements, partnerships and impact.
- Maintain appropriate relationships with media and communications partners.
4. Digital & Content Management
- Provide oversight of JEH's website, social media platforms, newsletters and other communication channels.
- Develop an effective content strategy to communicate JEH's work, resident activities, staff contributions, partnerships and community impact.
- Ensure content is accurate, appropriate, respectful and compliant with organisational requirements, including consent and personal data considerations.
- Monitor digital engagement and communications performance.
5. Fundraising Communications
- Work with management and relevant stakeholders to develop fundraising communication strategies and campaigns.
- Support donor engagement through compelling impact stories, fundraising materials, appeals and stewardship communications.
- Ensure fundraising communications are transparent, professional and consistent with JEH's values.
- Support the development of donor reports, appreciation materials and impact updates.
6. Community Outreach & Partnerships
- Develop strategies to strengthen JEH's relationships with community organisations, schools, corporate partners, grassroots organisations, religious/community groups and other stakeholders.
- Identify opportunities for partnerships, collaborations and community outreach.
- Support major community programmes, visits, events and engagement activities.
7. Internal Communications
- Support effective organisational communication between management and employees.
- Develop communication materials for organisational changes, key initiatives, staff events and important announcements.
- Work with HR and other departments to strengthen employee engagement and organisational alignment.
8. Leadership & Team Management
- Lead, guide and develop the Corporate Communications team.
- Establish clear priorities, responsibilities and performance expectations.
- Review and approve communication materials produced by the team.
- Manage departmental plans, budgets, vendors and external service providers where applicable.
9. Governance & Reporting
- Maintain appropriate records of communications, campaigns, partnerships and stakeholder activities.
- Provide regular reports to the CEO and management on communications performance and key initiatives.
- Ensure appropriate controls and approval processes are followed before external publication or release.
Requirements
- Degree in Communications, Public Relations, Marketing, Journalism, Business, Mass Communications or related discipline.
- Preferably at least 7-10 years of relevant experience, including experience in a managerial or leadership capacity.
- Experience in healthcare, eldercare, social services, charity or non-profit organisations would be advantageous.
- Strong corporate writing, editing, presentation and stakeholder management skills.
- Strong understanding of media, digital communications, branding and reputation management.
- Experience in fundraising, community engagement or donor communications would be an advantage.
- Able to manage sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
