Job Description

UBL UAE is looking for Head of Credit responsible for embedding a culture of risk management within an organization. This involves reviewing credit proposals, monitoring the credit portfolio, risk policies, risk methodologies and tools in line with best practices and bank's policies and guidelines.

Job Responsibilities

  1. To monitor the UAE portfolio health and highlight any deterioration in a timely manner.
  2. Credit Appraisals of UAE customers highlighting major risks, weaknesses and strengths of the customers.
  3. Maintain credit quality and turnaround time (TAT).
  4. Conduct regular client visits to ensure effective due diligence of new and existing portfolio.
  5. Represent the Risk department (on need basis) in UAE in various internal committee meetings.
  6. Formulation/renewal of product program manuals for retail banking.
  7. Forecast provisioning of Credit portfolio in line of discussion with the business and other relevant departments.
  8. Maintain the required overlays and IFRS 9 impact when required.
  9. Maintain effective/regular coordination among stakeholders through proper communication and ensure timely solution to their requirements.
  10. Liaise with internal audit, Compliance and regulators as and when required for UAE.
  11. Collaborate with different functions to implement the bank's Risk Management Framework for productive identification and management of risks in a consistent manner.
  12. Review of Credit Policies / SOPs on credit risk issues for stronger governance.

Qualification and Experience

  1. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's / Master's in Business Administration / Finance / Accounting / Economics / Mathematics / Statistics from a reputable university.
  2. Minimum 10-12 years of experience in the areas of Risk Management, Business and other relevant areas; of which at least 3-5 years should be in Risk Management on a mandatory basis.
