Head of Developer Experience

Location: Abu Dhabi

Salary: Up to 40,000 AED per month

We're partnering with a technology company looking for a Head of Developer Experience to take ownership of how developers discover, understand, integrate with and ultimately build using its products and APIs.

This is a founding leadership role with the opportunity to create the function rather than inherit one. You'll define what great developer experience looks like, set the strategy and standards, introduce the right tooling and grow the team around you.

It goes far beyond documentation. You'll have a direct influence on the developer journey, product experience and community, working closely with Product and Engineering to make complex technology genuinely easy to adopt and build with.

What You'll Do

• Build and lead the Developer Experience function from the ground up.
• Define the strategy across developer experience, documentation, advocacy and community.
• Own the end-to-end developer journey across products, APIs and integrations.
• Create best-in-class API docs, quick-starts, SDK guidance, code samples and interactive resources.
• Introduce developer tooling, standards and docs-as-code workflows that can scale.
• Lead and mentor the existing DevRel team and shape future hiring.
• Turn developer feedback into actionable insights for Product and Engineering.
• Build an active developer community through content, events and advocacy.
• Measure how developers engage with resources and continuously improve the experience.

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years across Developer Relations, Developer Experience, Technical Writing or similar, including leadership experience.
• Experience building or scaling a developer-facing function.
• Strong understanding of APIs, SDKs, integrations and developer tooling.
• Excellent technical communication with a developer-first mindset.
• Experience with developer portals, documentation platforms or communities.
• Strong partnership with Product and Engineering teams.
• Experience leading, mentoring and developing people.
• Comfortable moving between big-picture strategy and hands-on execution in a fast-moving environment.
