What you'll do:
As the Head of Finance Tech at noon, you will own the end-to-end technical strategy and execution for Finance technology platforms across the company. Today, noon's finance operations run on a mix of legacy systems, ERPs, manual workflows, and multi-tiered approval chains. The opportunity is massive: transform these into streamlined, AI-enabled systems that can scale with a business growing as fast as ours.
You will lead a cross-functional organization spanning engineering, product management, and program management — responsible for the backend systems, internal tooling, workflow automation, and applied AI capabilities that power how noon handles invoicing, legal entity management, vendor onboarding, approvals, and financial reporting at scale.
This is a senior leadership role with high ownership. You will set technical direction, drive execution across the stack, and build the team and culture required to modernize finance technology for one of the region's most complex e-commerce operations.
Finance Technical Strategy & Transformation
- Define and drive the technical strategy for Finance technology across noon, with a mandate to modernize legacy systems and manual workflows into scalable, AI-enabled platforms.
- Own the full technology stack powering finance operations — including ERP integrations, invoicing and credit note processing, legal entity management, vendor onboarding, approval workflows, and financial reporting.
- Identify and prioritize high-ROI automation opportunities where finance teams spend the most time on manual, repetitive work — and replace those with intelligent systems that reserve human attention for outliers and edge cases.
- Partner closely with Finance, Commercial, and Operations leadership to ensure technology investments align with business priorities and deliver measurable impact.
Systems, Platforms & Applied AI
- Architect and evolve reliable backend systems and APIs that power core finance workflows: invoice posting, purchase order management, multi-tiered approval chains, and settlement processes.
- Drive the design and deployment of applied AI capabilities — leveraging LLMs, document parsing, and agent frameworks — to automate document validation, data entry, cross-document verification, and entity onboarding across multiple languages and jurisdictions.
- Build intelligent workflow systems that classify and triage transactions, pre-validate submissions, and surface only the cases that require human judgment — fundamentally changing how finance operators spend their time.
- Ensure all finance platforms meet high bars for observability, reliability, auditability, and compliance.
Cross-Functional Leadership & Team Building
- Lead and grow a cross-functional organization spanning backend engineering, frontend engineering, product management, and program management.
- Hire, mentor, and develop senior technical and product talent to build a high-performing, deeply collaborative team.
- Drive cross-team coordination with adjacent squads — including seller and vendor platform teams, payments, and applied AI — to ensure shared dependencies are well-managed and solutions are consistent.
- Establish engineering best practices across CI/CD, testing, monitoring, and incident response for all finance technology.
What you'll need:
- 10+ years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years in a leadership role directly relevant to finance technology, ERP systems, or enterprise workflow automation.
- Proven track record of leading cross-functional technical teams across frontend, backend, product management, and program management.
- Deep experience designing and operating large-scale backend systems, APIs, and distributed services in a cloud environment (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Strong understanding of ERP platforms, financial systems integration, and the challenges of modernizing legacy finance infrastructure at scale.
- Experience applying AI/ML, LLMs, or intelligent automation to enterprise workflows — particularly document processing, data extraction, or approval automation — is highly valued.
- Familiarity with agent frameworks (e.g., LangGraph), open-source AI tooling, and strategies for building vendor-agnostic AI systems is a plus.
- Strong engineering fundamentals including CI/CD, automated testing, monitoring, and data-driven decision-making.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics preferred.
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Master's degree or MBA is a plus but not required.
