The Opportunity:
As Head of Engineering – Open Banking, you will be responsible for defining and executing MIS Connect's engineering strategy, technology roadmap, and architectural vision. You will lead multidisciplinary engineering teams, oversee platform architecture, and ensure our KSA Open Banking (AIS/PIS) infrastructure remains scalable, secure, and resilient.
This role requires a strong leader with proven experience in Open Banking, Banking APIs, FinTech platforms, and enterprise-scale distributed systems.
You will work closely with Product Management, Executive Leadership, Compliance, Security, and Banking Partners to shape the future of digital financial services in Saudi Arabia.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering Leadership
- Lead and scale high-performing engineering teams across multiple products and services.
- Establish engineering standards, governance frameworks, and best practices.
- Develop engineering talent through coaching, mentoring, and succession planning.
- Manage engineering capacity, budgeting, resource planning, and recruitment.
Architecture & Technology Strategy
- Own the overall architecture of MIS Connect's Open Banking ecosystem.
- Define and govern technology standards, architectural principles, and platform evolution.
- Lead architecture reviews and technical decision-making processes.
- Ensure solutions are scalable, secure, maintainable, and aligned with business objectives.
Product Delivery & Execution
- Partner closely with Product Management to align technical delivery with strategic priorities.
- Ensure predictable and high-quality software delivery.
Security, Compliance & Reliability
- Ensure compliance with Saudi Central Bank (SAMA) Open Banking requirements and industry standards.
- Promote secure software development lifecycle (SSDLC) practices.
- Oversee platform reliability, availability, observability, and incident management.
- Collaborate with security and compliance teams to maintain regulatory readiness.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
- 12+ years of software engineering experience.
- 5+ years in senior engineering leadership roles.
- Proven experience leading Engineering and Architecture functions.
- Strong background in distributed systems, microservices, and API platforms.
- Experience delivering mission-critical platforms within banking, payments, fintech, or Open Banking environments.
- Deep understanding of software architecture, scalability, security, and reliability engineering.
- Experience managing cross-functional engineering teams.
- Strong stakeholder management and executive communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Direct experience with Open Banking ecosystems and regulatory frameworks.
- Experience working with banks, financial institutions, or fintech providers.
- Knowledge of SAMA Open Banking Framework requirements.
- Experience with API security, OAuth2, OpenID Connect, and Identity Management.
- Experience scaling engineering organizations in fast-growing technology environments.
