Position Purpose Summary
The Head of Finance is responsible for managing the overall finance function in Egypt and acting as the local finance leader and strategic business partner for the region. The role ensures effective financial planning, reporting, analysis, compliance, budgeting, accounting control and financial governance.
The position provides high-quality, proactive and interactive financial analysis, guidance and support to the business, enabling effective decision-making for both daily operations and long-term strategic planning. The Head of Finance is also responsible for identifying financial risks, communicating key issues to management, and ensuring that financial operations are aligned with local regulations and corporate policies.
Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
- Lead and manage the overall finance function in Egypt, ensuring proper control, accuracy, compliance and efficiency across all financial activities.
- Act as the key financial advisor to Egypt management, providing financial insights, recommendations and analysis to support business decisions.
- Proactively identify financial, operational and business issues that may impact performance and work with leadership to develop effective solutions.
- Integrate the finance function with business activities to provide value-added support to the local business and Egypt management team.
- Provide leadership, coaching and supervision to the Finance team, ensuring that team members receive proper guidance, development plans, performance reviews and clear annual objectives.
- Develop innovative alternatives and practical solutions when financial or operational challenges arise. Provide in-depth financial support and analysis for revenue reporting, expense reporting, profitability analysis, annual budgeting, forecasting and strategic planning.
- Partner with management to understand key business issues facing the organization and provide appropriate financial recommendations.
- Oversee the business profit and loss statement, balance sheet, cash flow and financial performance indicators. Monitor revenue, profit, cost and expense performance to ensure balanced financial results and proper expense management.
- Prepare, review and submit monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports in line with local and corporate reporting requirements.
- Ensure compliance with all accounting, tax, reporting and internal control requirements according to local laws, corporate policies and regional finance guidelines.
- Partner with the Regional Finance Directors in Doha to meet reporting, budgeting, forecasting and analysis requirements.
- Manage financial settlement processes and ensure proper reconciliation, documentation and control.
- Oversee financial transactions, accounting records, reconciliations, accruals, provisions and closing activities.
- Support internal and external audit processes by providing required documentation, analysis and explanations.
- Ensure proper implementation and usage of ERP systems and financial tools to improve efficiency, accuracy and reporting quality.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance.
Professional finance certification such as CPA, CMA, ACCA, CFA.
Fluency in written and spoken English is required.
Experience
Minimum of 10 years of experience in finance, accounting, financial reporting, budgeting and financial analysis.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in a senior finance leadership role, preferably as Head of Finance, Finance Manager, Financial Controller or equivalent.
Experience in a multinational company is required.
Experience with one of the Big Four audit firms
Strong experience in financial reporting, accounting standards, tax, internal controls, budgeting, forecasting and business partnering.
Experience in ERP systems, preferably Oracle.
