Are you a strategic leader who thrives on building high-performing teams and driving results at scale We are looking for a Category Leader to join Amazon and take ownership of defining and executing category strategy that delivers meaningful impact for our customers. In this role, you will lead a team of managers, set the vision for your category, and partner cross-functionally to identify opportunities, optimize inventory, and develop marketing strategies that accelerate growth. Your ability to navigate ambiguity, make sound trade-offs, and inspire your organization will be critical to success.
Key job responsibilities
- Define and execute the strategic vision for your category, establishing goals, mechanisms, and team structures that align with long-term business objectives while balancing short-term priorities.
- Lead, develop, and grow a team of managers by providing coaching, career development opportunities, and creating an inclusive environment where employees can do their best work.
- Partner with cross-functional stakeholders to develop and implement inventory optimization strategies and marketing campaigns that drive category performance and improve the customer experience.
- Negotiate effectively with vendors to secure favorable terms, maintain compliance, and evaluate performance against business goals.
- Establish scalable mechanisms for process improvement and operational excellence, using data to identify risks and opportunities and to communicate strategic recommendations to leadership.
A day in the life
You will start your day reviewing category performance metrics and aligning with your leadership team on priorities. Throughout the day, you will coach direct reports, participate in vendor negotiations, and collaborate with marketing and supply chain partners on upcoming initiatives. You will also dedicate time to writing strategic documents and preparing narratives for leadership reviews.

Basic Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a technical or analytical discipline
- Experience in vendor negotiations, pricing and promotion, inventory management, and product development
- Experience leading multi-functional teams and developing people managers in a data-driven environment
Preferred Qualifications :
- Experience in consulting, business development, as a business leader with P&L responsibilities, or in product management in an international environment
