Job Scope
The Head of Internal Audit is responsible for establishing and overseeing an independent internal audit function in accordance with the Financial Regulatory Authority (FRA) Corporate Governance Decrees and the Consumer Finance Law.
The role provides independent and objective assurance to the Board of Directors and Audit Committee regarding the adequacy and effectiveness of internal controls, risk management, governance processes, and compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including AML/CFT regulations.
Job Accountability
- Establish and manage an independent internal audit function in line with FRA requirements.
- Prepare and maintain the Internal Audit Charter.
- Develop and execute a risk-based annual audit plan approved by the Audit Committee.
- Conduct audits covering financial, operational, technology, compliance, and consumer finance activities.
- Evaluate internal controls, governance, and risk management frameworks.
- Assess AML/CFT internal controls.
- Report findings to the Audit Committee and Board of Directors.
- Coordinate with external auditors and regulators.
- Monitor regulatory developments and recommend policy updates.
- Ensure secure retention of audit documentation.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in law, accounting, Finance, or related fields.
CIA preferred
Strong leadership and team management skills.
Excellent knowledge of audit procedures, risk management, and regulatory compliance.
Strong analytical, organizational, and decision-making skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with senior management, audit committees, and external auditors.
Minimum Experience
7+ years in internal audit or governance.
5 years in senior or managerial role.
Experience with FRA or CBE regulated entities is a must.
