Job Description

Our client is seeking to hire an experienced Partner, with extensive experience in international arbitration, particularly in construction law. The ideal candidate should be a seasoned arbitration practitioner with a strong presence in the Middle East legal market, capable of independently handling clients, leading complex matters, and managing a team of lawyers in the construction arbitration practice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Accept and perform duties as an arbitrator (sole, chair, or wing) when conflict-free, enhancing the firm's reputation for impartiality and expertise.
  • Drive revenue growth by acquiring new mandates from government entities, multinational corporations, and high-net-worth individuals.
  • Actively contribute to the firm's business development initiatives in the Middle East, leveraging professional networks to grow the construction arbitration practice.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, providing strategic legal and commercial advice.
  • Lead and manage high-value international construction arbitration matters.
  • Draft, review, and finalize pleadings and submissions for complex disputes.
  • Appear and assist in international arbitration hearings; must have attended at least seven such hearings.
  • Work closely with barristers and expert witnesses in arbitration proceedings.
  • Supervise and mentor a team of associates and junior lawyers handling arbitration work.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Education: LL.B. (or equivalent); LL.M. or arbitration-related certification (e.g., CIArb) preferred.
  • Minimum 12 years of post-qualification experience, with at least 5 years specializing in construction arbitration.
  • Could be a Senior Associate with Dubai based law firm (international)
  • Proven experience in at least seven international arbitration hearings related to construction disputes.
  • Demonstrated capability in drafting pleadings and submissions for at least seven international arbitration matters.
  • Strong professional network within the Middle East construction and legal community.
  • Track record of independently handling clients and managing end-to-end arbitration mandates.
  • Experience collaborating with barristers in international arbitration settings.
  • Excellent analytical, advocacy, and communication skills.
  • Leadership experience in team management and mentoring.
