The ideal candidate will be UK or Western-qualified, with at least 4 years of post-qualification experience, and a proven track record in handling cross-border disputes and arbitration proceedings.
Key Responsibilities:
. Advise on Bilateral Investment Treaties (BITs), treaty protections, and related disputes.
. Manage and support international arbitration cases, including strategy development, drafting, and coordination with external counsel.
. Draft, review, and negotiate contracts and legal documents with cross-border implications.
. Conduct legal research on international investment law, treaty interpretation, and arbitration frameworks.
. Advise senior management on dispute avoidance, compliance, and investment structuring strategies.
. Monitor and assess developments in international arbitration rules and global investment law.
Qualifications & Requirements:
. UK or other Western legal qualification (solicitor, barrister, or equivalent).
. Minimum 4 years of post-qualification experience, with a focus on BITs and international arbitration.
. Strong knowledge of international investment law, arbitration institutions, and treaty disputes.
. Excellent drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
. Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with internal stakeholders and external counsel.
. Commercial awareness and ability to align legal advice with business objectives.
