Role Purpose
The role of the Head of Non-Motor Claims is to lead and advocate complex, high‑severity claims for corporate and commercial clients across General Lines, delivering timely and commercially appropriate outcomes while providing expert coverage advice, managing key market relationships, leveraging claims insights and data, and contributing to Aon's technical excellence and client value.
Key Responsibilities
Claims Leadership & Management
- Lead and manage complex, high‑severity, and high‑profile claims across General Lines (e.g., Property, Casualty, Financial Lines, Specialty) for corporate and commercial clients.
- Develop and execute effective claims strategies to achieve timely, fair, and commercially appropriate outcomes.
- Provide expert guidance and direction on coverage interpretation, policy wording, and negotiation tactics.
- Oversee and coordinate the end‑to‑end claims process, ensuring accurate documentation, tracking, and reporting.
Client Advocacy & Relationship Management
- Act as a senior claims advocate for key clients, representing their interests with insurers, loss adjusters, legal counsel, and other stakeholders.
- Participate in client meetings, stewardship reviews, and renewal discussions to provide claims insights and trends analysis.
- Proactively identify claims‑related risk trends and recommend risk improvement and loss mitigation strategies to clients.
- Contribute to client retention and growth through high‑quality claims service and by demonstrating Aon's differentiated value.
Market & Stakeholder Engagement
- Build and maintain strong working relationships with local and international insurers, reinsurers, TPAs, adjusters, and legal advisors.
- Lead or support negotiations with insurers to resolve contentious or complex coverage issues and achieve favorable settlements.
- Provide feedback to broking and placement teams on market behaviour, policy wording, and claims performance to support product and program design.
Technical Excellence & Governance
- Ensure all claims activities adhere to Aon policies, local regulatory requirements, and best practice standards.
- Provide technical coaching, mentoring, and day‑to‑day support to junior claims colleagues.
- Contribute to the development and refinement of claims procedures, tools, and reporting frameworks.
- Support internal audits, quality reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
Data, Analytics & Reporting
- Use claims data and analytics to generate insight on loss trends, root causes, and improvement opportunities.
- Prepare and present regular claims reports and management information for clients and internal stakeholders.
- Support the development and delivery of thought leadership, case studies, and training materials based on claims experience.
Skills And Experience That Will Lead to Success
Qualifications
- Bachelors degree in Insurance, Business, Finance, Risk Management or a related discipline
- Professional insurance qualification (e.g. ACII or equivalent)
- IFCE is mandatory
Experience
- Extensive experience (More than 12+ years) in claims management within insurance, broking, or a related risk environment, with a strong focus on Commercial Risk / General Lines.
- Proven track record of handling complex and large‑loss claims and negotiating with insurers and other stakeholders.
- Strong technical knowledge of commercial insurance products (e.g., Property, Casualty, Financial Lines, Specialty) and policy wordings.
- Solid understanding of the Saudi insurance market, regulatory framework, and local practices.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain senior‑level client and market relationships.
Skills
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving and decision‑making skills with the ability to manage multiple claims and priorities concurrently.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills in English; Arabic language skills are highly desirable.
- High level of integrity, professionalism, and attention to detail.
