Overview
The Operations Head is responsible for leading and optimizing the organizations operations to ensure effectiveness, service excellence, quality, and adherence to timelines, while maintaining cost-efficient resource management. The role requires a strategic and hands-on leader with expertise in energy efficiency and solar projects. This position will play a vital role in the annual strategic planning process, closely monitoring performance against objectives through quarterly Strategic Planning & Corporate Performance meetings, ensuring operational targets are consistently achieved and aligned with business goals.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage all operational activities across power, solar, and energy efficiency projects.
- Ensure operational excellence, compliance, and cost-effective management of resources.
- Lead and monitor project execution, ensuring timely delivery within scope and budget.
- Drive P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, and financial control to maximize profitability.
- Implement performance management systems to track KPIs and operational outcomes.
- Lead and mentor cross-functional teams, fostering a culture of accountability and excellence.
- Manage bid preparation, proposals, procurement, and commercial practices to support business development.
- Collaborate with Sales, Finance, HR, and Engineering to align operations with strategic business goals.
- Ensure adherence to international quality standards (ISO 9001, ISO 14001, OHSAS 18001) and HSE requirements.
- Support digital transformation initiatives in solar and energy efficiency solutions to drive innovation.
Necessary Knowledge & Experience
- 10+ years of progressive experience in industrial operations, with at least 6 years in executive management roles within Power, Solar, and Energy Solutions operations.
- Proven track record in managing large-scale energy efficiency and solar projects.
- Strong technical expertise in contracting and construction operations.
- In-depth knowledge of project management principles, construction contracts, and estimating methods/techniques.
- Experience in bid management, procurement, commercial practices, and cost control.
Education & Certification
- Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Business Management, or related discipline from a reputed institution.
- Masters Degree in Management / MBA (preferred).
- Project Management Certification (PMP, APMP) is a strong advantage.
