Job Summary
The Head of Private Cloud Operations is responsible for leading the strategy, architecture, and day-to-day operations of a large-scale private cloud platform. This role ensures high availability, security, and scalability across multi-site data centers while driving governance and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead cloud strategy, operations, and platform governance across the organization
- Oversee end-to-end architecture across networking, cloud, security, and storage domains
- Ensure 24x7 platform availability, incident response readiness, and SLA compliance
- Own and manage multi-site disaster recovery (DR) strategy, testing, and failover readiness
- Drive security architecture and ensure alignment with compliance standards
- Lead, mentor, and scale engineering, operations, and security teams
- Manage vendor relationships and define the technology roadmap
- Ensure scalability and performance for a multi-tenant platform serving large scale
- Implement monitoring, automation, and DevOps best practices
- Establish and enforce governance frameworks, ITSM processes, and operational standards
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
- 15–20 years of experience in IT infrastructure, cloud, or data center environments
- Minimum 5–8 years in leadership roles managing large-scale platforms
- Proven experience in private cloud, multi-tenant, and multi-data center environments
- Strong leadership and team management capabilities
- Strategic thinking and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management
- Problem-solving and crisis management abilities
- High level of ownership and accountability
- Data center networking (Cisco ACI Multi-Site, BGP, MPLS)
- Container platforms (Red Hat OpenShift, Kubernetes)
- Virtualization technologies (Nutanix AHV)
- Enterprise storage and backup solutions (Pure Storage, Veeam)
- Network and cloud security (Fortinet, Zero Trust architecture)
- Monitoring, automation, and DevOps practices
- Disaster recovery planning and failover management
- Advanced knowledge of cloud platforms and infrastructure management tools
- Proficiency in monitoring, automation, and orchestration tools
- Familiarity with ITSM platforms and reporting tools
- Fluency in English (written and spoken)
