Job Description

Job Title: Procurement Section Head

Job Purpose:

The Procurement Section Head is responsible for leading the sourcing of raw materials, spare parts, and services required for steel fabrication and galvanization operations, ensuring cost-effective sourcing, supplier reliability, and timely delivery in line with production and project schedules.

Key Accountabilities:

  • Lead and manage the procurement team in sourcing raw materials (steel, zinc), spare parts, and services required for production and projects.
  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and delivery performance across the supply base.
  • Negotiate contracts and pricing agreements with suppliers to secure the best commercial terms for the company.
  • Evaluate and qualify new suppliers, maintaining an approved vendor list in line with quality and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor supplier performance and resolve quality, delivery, or commercial issues in a timely manner.
  • Collaborate with production, projects, and quality control teams to ensure procurement plans align with operational needs.
  • Prepare procurement reports, cost-saving analyses, and market intelligence for senior management.
  • Ensure compliance with company procurement policies, ethical sourcing standards, and relevant regulations.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate supply chain risks and issues.

Job Requirements:

- Years of experience: 6-8 years of experience in procurement/supply chain, preferably within the steel fabrication or galvanization sector.

Qualifications:

-Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, Engineering, or related field.

-Preferred Master's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field.

Professional Certificates:

-Not mandatory, but CIPS or CPSM are advantageous.

Language proficiency:

-Proficient in English, both verbal and written.

-Preferred Proficiency in additional languages is beneficial.

Computer skills:

-Proficient in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle) and MS Excel.

-Preferred Experience with e-procurement platforms and supplier relationship management (SRM) tools.
