About the Role:
We are working with a fast-growing preventive health/nutraceutical company developing its first wave of products: nutritional powders, functional blends, and supplement formats designed for daily use and long-term adherence. The Head of R&D & Innovation will lead the end-to-end product development process, from strategy and formulation design to regulatory compliance, stability testing, and scale-up. This high-impact role allows you to shape the company's scientific and innovation direction from day one.
Key Responsibilities:
- Own the formulations vertical, building a product pipeline that aligns with the company's vision.
- Research, design, and prototype clean-label products across powders, capsules, RTDs, and mixes.
- Source traceable, tested ingredients and ensure evidence-backed efficacy.
- Integrate traditional actives (Ayurvedic, TCM, etc.) with modern clinical science where relevant.
- Ensure compliance with UAE/GCC and international standards (GMP, HACCP, Halal, FDA, etc.).
- Collaborate with founders, supply chain, marketing, and other teams to translate science into actionable products.
- Build and mentor a lean R&D team and external scientific network.
Candidate Profile:
- MSc or Phd in Nutraceuticals, Food Technology, Pharmaceutical Sciences, Biochemistry, or related field.
- 15+ years of experience in nutraceuticals or supplement formulations, with at least 5 in leadership roles.
- Proven track record in clean-label, evidence-backed product development.
- Deep understanding of ingredient synergies, delivery systems, and bioavailability.
- Entrepreneurial mindset able to thrive in ambiguity and build from zero.
- Familiarity with UAE/GCC regulatory frameworks is a plus.
- Open to applicants relocating
