Job Summary
The Head of Responsible Gaming will lead the development and implementation of the strategic direction of Momentum Group's (Momentum) Responsible Gaming function. The Head of Responsible Gaming will assist in developing a strong responsible gaming culture throughout Momentum through the management and oversight of the Responsible Gaming framework within the Commercial Gaming function. This role involves the oversight of the provision of advice, support, guidance, training, oversight and monitoring of all responsible gaming and player safety activities within Momentum's Commercial Gaming functions.
Responsibilities
The Head of Responsible Gaming will report to Momentum's Group Compliance Director. Responsibilities include:
Responsible Gaming Management
- Manage Momentum's player protection systems and frameworks by developing, overseeing and advising on policies and programmes in line with the highest player protection standards.
- Lead engagement with regulatory and industry bodies (including the WLA, GCGRA, and Responsible Gaming Alliance)
- Ensure the delivery of a unified responsible gaming standard across the group.
- Maintain an excellent understanding of the regulatory landscape and perform routine horizon scanning to identify potential regulatory or reputational risk areas.
- Lead the delivery and evolution of Momentum's RG roadmap and the operationalization of predictive risk scoring, player interventions, and outcome evaluation.
- Ensure responsible gaming training is continually reviewed, updated and is provided to employees within Momentum to ensure that they are aware of their roles and responsibilities in maintaining player safety.
- Maintain and drive, at all times, the highest ethical and professional standards, conduct, and principles.
- Lead or oversee internal and external RG audits and compliance readiness reviews.
- Support business units in day-to-day Responsible Gaming (RG) operations, including real-time case escalations, intervention reviews, player risk flagging, and account actions. Act as a primary escalation point for complex or high-risk RG cases.
- Collaborate with Marketing and Corporate Communications to develop and execute Responsible Gaming awareness campaigns, ensuring messaging is clear, consistent, and aligned with player protection goals.
- Responsible for the enforcement of self-exclusion protocols, deposit/time limit controls, and reactivation safeguards.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of responsible gambling theories and practical application within the lottery or gaming sectors.
- Proficiency in technology based solutions, with excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Strong leadership and team management abilities.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, and highly proficient in English.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in responsible gambling, player safety or a related player protection role within the lottery or gaming sectors.
- Ideally a degree in Business, Risk Management, Law or other relevant field.
