Head of Risk

The Company

Our client is a wellestablished financial services platform operating across capital markets, securities trading, brokerage, and digital investment channels. The business serves both institutional and sophisticated retail clients and operates in a highly regulated environment.

As the organisation continues to expand its trading and digital capabilities, it is strengthening its senior risk leadership and is seeking an experienced professional to lead the firm's enterprisewide risk management function.

Responsibilities

• Own and shape the firm's enterprise risk management strategy, covering financial and nonfinancial risks across securities trading, brokerage, investment activity, and digital platforms.
• Establish frameworks and methodologies for identifying, assessing, monitoring, and mitigating market, credit, liquidity, counterparty, operational, and technology risks.
• Lead the risk management function, overseeing operational risk programs including:
• Incident and loss event management
• Risk and Control SelfAssessments (RCSA)
• Root cause analysis and corrective action tracking
• Risk metrics and management reporting
• Design and maintain risk governance structures, ensuring clear escalation, accountability, and transparency to senior management and Boardlevel committees.
• Ensure the effectiveness of nonfinancial risk controls, including policy adherence, control testing, and remediation oversight.
• Work closely with frontoffice, product, technology, and compliance teams to embed risk considerations into product development, trading processes, and digital platform architecture.
• Oversee regulatory and internal risk reporting, ensuring accuracy, completeness, and timely submission to relevant stakeholders.
• Monitor regulatory developments and ensure the organisation remains aligned with local securities and risk management expectations.
• Act as a trusted advisor to senior leadership on risk exposures, emerging threats, and control effectiveness.

Requirements

• 10–15+ years of experience in financial services, with a strong track record in risk management within securities trading, brokerage, investment management, or digital trading environments.
• Indepth experience designing or operating enterprisewide risk frameworks, including operational and nonfinancial risk programs.
• Strong technical understanding of market, credit, liquidity, and operational risk, including handson exposure to trading risk controls and risk analytics.
• Prior experience supporting or overseeing online / digital trading platforms is highly advantageous.
• Solid knowledge of securities regulatory regimes and supervisory expectations in Singapore or comparable jurisdictions.
• Strong analytical capabilities, with experience using risk systems, data tools, and quantitative methodologies to assess complex products and trading strategies.
• Demonstrated expertise in control design, testing effectiveness, issue remediation, and ongoing risk monitoring.
• Strong leadership, stakeholder management, and communication skills, with the ability to engage credibly at senior management and Board level.
