Position: Head of Section – Patient Access
Location: Dubai, UAE
Job Purpose
Lead and oversee patient access operations, ensuring efficient patient registration, scheduling, admissions, insurance verification, and front-desk services, while maintaining data accuracy, operational efficiency, and a high standard of patient experience.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage Patient Access operations across healthcare facilities.
- Develop and monitor policies, procedures, and workflows related to registration and admissions.
- Ensure accurate patient demographic, medical, and insurance information.
- Oversee insurance verification and authorization processes.
- Monitor KPIs such as registration accuracy, waiting times, patient satisfaction, and service efficiency.
- Coordinate with clinical, finance, insurance, and other departments to ensure seamless patient flow.
- Oversee payment collection and compliance with billing and revenue cycle requirements.
- Drive initiatives to improve patient experience and service quality.
- Manage staffing, workload distribution, performance, coaching, and staff development.
- Identify operational risks and implement mitigation strategies.
- Prepare operational reports, performance metrics, and improvement plans.
- Ensure compliance with healthcare policies, quality standards, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, Health Information Management, or a related field.
- Master's degree is preferred.
- 8–10 years of experience in a healthcare setting.
- Minimum 3 years of supervisory experience.
- Proven experience managing patient access/front-desk operations, preferably in a large hospital or healthcare system.
- Experience managing 24/7 front-desk operations in a high-pressure environment.
- Strong leadership, team management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English and Arabic.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and patient satisfaction metrics.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of Salama is an advantage.
