Job Description

A leading banking group is seeking a highly experienced Head of Strategy to drive operational excellence, service innovation, and transformation across the group's Consumer Banking. This is a senior leadership role that sits at the centre of Consumer Banking's strategic roadmap, transformation agenda, and long-term vision.

Strategy Leadership for Consumer & Commercial Banking

  • Lead the overall strategy for Retail/Consumer and Commercial (SME/Business Banking) segments.
  • Develop multi-year strategic plans covering segmentation, customer experience, commercial priorities, and digital evolution.
  • Evaluate market trends, customer behavior shifts, and competitor movements to advise the DCEO.

Transformation & Operating Model Modernization

  • Drive large-scale transformation programs across multiple countries.
  • Modernize processes, operating models, and front-line empowerment.
  • Oversee CRM, BPM, and functional automation initiatives.
  • Support the evolution of digital banking, payments, and customer journeys.

Cross-Functional Alignment

Work with leaders across:

  • Credit
  • Finance & Network
  • Digital Banking
  • Customer Care
  • Transformation / Operations
  • Segmentation & Sales
  • Wealth & Private Banking

Ensure alignment to the bank's strategic roadmap and future-state vision.

Multi-Country Strategic Impact

  • Support different markets in implementing the Consumer strategy.
  • Guide network optimization (branch mergers, ATM strategy).
  • Ensure consistent KPIs, segmentation strategy, and customer experience across countries.

Senior Leadership Advisory

  • Act as a key thought partner to the DCEO.
  • Provide insights, strategic recommendations, and scenario planning.
  • Help shape the next phase of the Consumer Bank's evolution.

Qualifications & Experience


  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Operations, or related field; Master's preferred.
  • 1018+ years of experience in Strategy or Transformation within the banking sector.
  • Strong strategy & transformation experience in Retail/Consumer or Commercial banking.
  • A forward-looking, customer-centric mindset
  • Proven success leading large teams and overseeing multi-country or group-level strategy.
  • Excellent communication, executive stakeholder management, and change leadership skills.
