A leading Tier 1 contractor in the UAE is seeking an experienced Head QHSE to lead the QHSE Department for infrastructure and utilities packages across large projects in UAE
Job Description
- Lead and drive the overall QHSE strategy across large-scale infrastructure, utilities, oil & gas, and industrial projects, ensuring alignment with business objectives and international best practices
- Act as a strategic advisor to senior management, providing expert guidance on QHSE matters, risk mitigation, and regulatory compliance
- Build and foster a strong safety-first culture across the organization, ensuring high levels of awareness, accountability, and operational preparedness
- Oversee and continuously enhance integrated management systems (ISO 9001, 14001, 45001), ensuring robust implementation across all projects and sites
- Lead, manage, and develop a large QHSE functio, including performance management, mentoring, and capability building
- Ensure full compliance with legal, statutory, client, and regulatory requirements across all project types and geographies
- Drive quality assurance and control processes, including PQD, NDT standards, and project-specific quality plans aligned with client specification
- Lead internal audits, external certifications, and engagement with third-party bodies to maintain and enhance QHSE accreditations
- Conduct regular site audits and performance reviews, leveraging data-driven insights to improve safety, quality, and environmental outcomes
- Develop and implement training programs, ensuring continuous upskilling of teams and alignment with evolving QHSE standards and project requirements
The Successful Applicant
A successful Head - QHSE should have:
- A degree in engineering, environmental science, or a related field.
- Proven expertise in quality, health, safety, and environmental management within the contracting sector.
- Comprehensive knowledge of relevant local and international regulations.
- Experience with ISO standards and their implementation.
- Strong leadership and project management skills.
- The ability to communicate effectively and work collaboratively with diverse teams
- Mandatory UAE experience with Tier 1 contractors
