Job Description

JOB OVERVIEW

The Head Waiter is responsible to lead the front-of-house team and ensure exceptional customer service in the restaurant. This job is responsible for overseeing the dining room operations, coordinating the service staff, and ensuring a seamless and enjoyable dining experience for guests.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise and coordinate the activities of the wait staff to ensure efficient and smooth service during service hours.
  • Assign sections and tables to wait staff, ensuring equal distribution of workload and optimal service coverage.
  • Oversee table set-up and arrangement, ensuring a clean and well-presented dining area.
  • Monitor table turnover and ensure timely seating of guests while maintaining high service standards.
  • Greet guests warmly, guide them to their tables, and provide information about the menu and daily specials.
  • Ensure that guests&apos needs and requests are promptly addressed and resolve any complaints or issues in a professional manner.
  • Maintain a friendly and attentive demeanor, engaging with guests to create a positive and memorable dining experience.
  • Monitor guest satisfaction, gather feedback, and take appropriate actions to enhance service quality.
  • Train and mentor new and existing wait staff on service standards, menu knowledge, and customer interaction.
  • Provide ongoing coaching and feedback to ensure the development of the service team.
  • Foster a positive work environment that promotes teamwork, professionalism, and excellent customer service.
  • Conduct performance evaluations and assist in the identification of training needs and opportunities for improvement.
  • Maintain a visible presence on the dining floor, monitoring service flow, and ensuring the smooth.
  • Coordinate with the kitchen staff to ensure the timely and accurate delivery of food and beverages. Oversee the handling of reservations, walk-ins, and seating arrangements to optimize table turnover and guest satisfaction.
  • Monitor cleanliness and organization of the dining area, ensuring adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Prepare reports on key performance indicators, such as guest counts, table turnover, and customer feedback.
  • Handle cash transactions and reconcile receipts at the end of each shift, ensuring accuracy and adherence to financial procedures.
  • Uphold company values throughout business practices and utilize sound judgment in decision making.
  • Any other additional duties as may be required by management based on needs of the business.

POSITION REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in a fine dining restaurant setting
  • Prior experience in an Italian restaurant is mandatory
