Health And Safety Officer

Role Purpose:

Provides the technical health, safety and environmental expertise to the projects, developing the risk assessments, the procedures and the training content, and supporting the sites on the specialist HSE matters.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and review the risk assessments, the job safety analyses and the HSE procedures.
• Develop the controls for the high risk activities including lifting, excavation, work at height, confined space and hot work.
• Verify that the method statements reflect the controls agreed.
• Advise the project teams on the specialist HSE questions raised.
• Support the sites in preparing for the client and the third party audits.
• Review the incident investigations and strengthen the controls arising.
• Develop the HSE training content, the inductions and the toolbox talk library.
• Maintain the HSE training matrix and track the competence records.
• Deliver the specialist training sessions on the assigned topics.
• Maintain the HSE documentation and the management system records.
• Monitor the changes in the Saudi occupational safety and health regulations and assess their effect.
• Verify the compliance of the projects against the regulatory and the client requirements.

Necessary Knowledge and Experience:

• Minimum 3 years health, safety and environmental experience on construction projects.
• Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Engineering or Environmental Science. NEBOSH International General Certificate or IOSH Managing Safely, together with a valid first aid and CPR certificate, is required.
