Job Title:
Health & Safety Officer (HSE Officer)
Salary up to 12,000 AED
Job Summary:
The Health & Safety Officer is responsible for implementing, monitoring, and enforcing health, safety, and environmental policies to ensure compliance with local regulations and company standards. The role focuses on preventing accidents, injuries, and environmental incidents by promoting a strong safety culture across all operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Health & Safety Management
- Implement and maintain company HSE policies, procedures, and safety programs
- Ensure compliance with local HSE laws, regulations, and international standards (e.g., OSHA, ISO 45001)
- Conduct risk assessments, Job Safety Analysis (JSA), and hazard identification
- Monitor safe work practices on site and enforce corrective actions
Site Inspections & Audits
- Carry out daily site inspections and safety audits
- Identify unsafe conditions and behaviors and report findings
- Ensure corrective and preventive actions are implemented and closed
Training & Awareness
- Conduct HSE inductions and toolbox talks
- Train employees on safe work practices, PPE usage, and emergency procedures
- Promote safety awareness and a strong safety culture
Incident Management
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe acts
- Prepare incident reports and recommend preventive measures
- Maintain accident and incident records
Emergency Preparedness
- Assist in developing and implementing emergency response plans
- Participate in and organize emergency drills (fire, evacuation, spill response)
- Ensure emergency equipment is available and maintained
PPE & Equipment Safety
- Ensure proper use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
- Inspect tools, machinery, lifting equipment, and safety devices
- Verify that safety signage and barriers are in place
Environmental Safety (if applicable)
- Monitor waste disposal, spill prevention, and environmental controls
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations and company environmental policies
Reporting & Documentation
- Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly HSE reports
- Maintains HSE documentation, permits, and records
- Support internal and external HSE audits
Qualifications & Requirements:
- Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health & Safety, Engineering, or related field
- NEBOSH IGC or equivalent HSE certification (preferred)
- Minimum 13 years of experience as an HSE Officer
- Knowledge of local labor laws and HSE regulations
- Strong communication and reporting skills
- Ability to work independently and under pressure
- Proficient in MS Office
