Job Summary
We are looking for an experienced HSE Engineer to join our team and ensure effective implementation of Health, Safety & Environmental standards across our construction and development projects. The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience in construction, building contracting, or real estate development, with strong knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, construction safety practices, risk assessment, and incident prevention.
Key Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor HSE policies, procedures, standards, and safe working practices across construction projects.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, risk assessments, and HSE compliance checks.
- Identify potential hazards and recommend appropriate corrective and preventive measures.
- Monitor contractors and subcontractors to ensure compliance with project HSE requirements.
- Investigate accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions and prepare detailed reports.
- Conduct and monitor toolbox talks, safety inductions, training, and awareness programs.
- Review Risk Assessments and Method Statements (RAMS) and ensure safe systems of work are implemented.
- Monitor high-risk activities including work at height, lifting operations, excavation, scaffolding, hot work, confined spaces, and electrical works.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, inspection reports, incident reports, and corrective action trackers.
- Follow up on non-compliances and ensure timely closure of corrective actions.
- Coordinate with project teams, consultants, contractors, and relevant authorities on HSE matters.
- Support emergency preparedness, drills, and response procedures.
- Monitor environmental requirements including waste management, pollution prevention, and site housekeeping.
- Prepare regular HSE reports and provide recommendations to project management.
- Ensure compliance with applicable UAE HSE legislation, local authority requirements, and company standards.
- Promote a strong safety culture across all project sites.
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum 3-8 years of relevant HSE experience, preferably within construction, building contracting, or real estate development.
- NEBOSH IGC certification is mandatory.
- Strong knowledge of UAE construction HSE regulations and safety practices.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple site requirements.
- UAE construction/project experience is highly preferred.
