We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HSE Engineer to support the implementation and continuous improvement of health, safety, and environmental programs across project sites. The ideal candidate will ensure compliance with HSE regulations, conduct risk assessments, promote safe work practices, and contribute to maintaining a strong safety culture throughout the organization.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and maintenance of HSE policies, procedures, and management systems in accordance with regulatory and company requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections, safety audits, and risk assessments to identify hazards and recommend corrective actions.
- Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Investigate incidents, near misses, and unsafe conditions, and support root-cause analysis and corrective action implementation.
- Review method statements, risk assessments, and work permits to ensure safe execution of activities.
- Support environmental compliance initiatives, including waste management and pollution prevention measures.
- Deliver HSE inductions, toolbox talks, safety training sessions, and awareness campaigns.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, incidents, safety observations, and HSE performance metrics.
- Participate in emergency response planning, drills, and preparedness activities.
- Coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and consultants to ensure adherence to HSE requirements.
- Prepare periodic HSE reports and assist in meeting client and management reporting requirements.
- Support compliance with ISO standards and other applicable HSE management systems.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Safety Engineering, Environmental Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
- Minimum 5–8 years of HSE experience within construction, infrastructure, landscaping, or related projects.
- Strong understanding of HSE regulations, risk assessment techniques, and safety management systems.
- Professional certifications such as NEBOSH, OSHA, IOSH, or equivalent are highly preferred.
- Experience conducting site inspections, incident investigations, and safety training programs.
- Proficiency in preparing HSE reports, audits, and compliance documentation.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced project environment and coordinate with multiple stakeholders.
