What Will Your Day Look Like

The HSE Technician / Officer will support the implementation of Health, Safety, and Environmental practices at site level, ensuring compliance with company policies, applicable local regulations, and international HSE standards.

The incumbent will conduct routine safety inspections, support risk assessments and incident investigations, assist with emergency preparedness activities, maintain HSE documentation, and promote a strong safety culture across operational areas. The role may require working across multiple sites as assigned by the HSE Supervisor.

How Will You Make an Impact

HSE Compliance & Site Safety

• Support the implementation of company HSE policies, procedures, and applicable legal and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct routine workplace safety inspections and identify unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, hazards, and areas requiring improvement.
• Support risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures to reduce workplace risks.
• Monitor compliance with established HSE procedures and safe working practices across operational areas.
• Promote awareness and adherence to occupational health and safety standards among employees and contractors.

Safety Inspections & Risk Management

• Conduct regular safety inspections, observations, and audits across assigned operational areas.
• Support the identification, assessment, and control of workplace hazards.
• Monitor compliance with PPE requirements and safe working practices.
• Ensure appropriate controls are followed for activities involving work at height, confined spaces, chemicals, and other high-risk activities.
• Support the implementation of Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and other critical safety controls.
• Conduct monthly internal HSE inspections and document findings.

Emergency Preparedness & Safety Equipment

• Support site emergency preparedness and response activities.
• Ensure firefighting equipment, emergency exits, safety signage, and other emergency response equipment are maintained and readily accessible.
• Support emergency drills and awareness activities as required.
• Promote appropriate use and maintenance of personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Assist in ensuring employees understand emergency response procedures.

Incident Reporting & CAPA

• Support the investigation of accidents, incidents, near misses, and unsafe occurrences.
• Assist in identifying root causes and contributing factors and recommend appropriate corrective actions.
• Record and report incidents, observations, and unsafe conditions in a timely manner.
• Monitor assigned corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) and follow up to ensure timely closure.
• Support initiatives aimed at reducing unsafe acts, unsafe conditions, and Lost Time Incidents (LTIs).

Training, Induction & HSE Awareness

• Conduct and support HSE inductions for new and existing employees and contractors.
• Support toolbox talks, safety briefings, and HSE awareness sessions.
• Ensure participation in mandatory safety inductions and toolbox talks.
• Support HSE campaigns, training programs, and employee engagement activities.
• Promote a positive HSE culture through regular communication, observation, and engagement with employees.

MIS & Reporting

• Prepare daily HSE observation reports, inspection checklists, induction logs, and other required HSE documentation.
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, observations, incidents, training, toolbox talks, and corrective actions.
• Prepare monthly HSE inspection and audit reports.
• Monitor and report HSE findings and outstanding corrective actions to the HSE Supervisor.
• Support the preparation of HSE performance reports and relevant management information.

Site & Stakeholder Coordination

• Work closely with Production, Quality, Warehouse, Engineering, HR, and other departments to support effective implementation of HSE requirements.
• Provide practical guidance to operational employees on HSE procedures and safe working practices.
• Coordinate with contractors and site personnel to ensure compliance with applicable HSE requirements.
• Work across multiple sites as assigned by the HSE Supervisor.

Continuous Improvement & Special Projects

• Identify opportunities to improve workplace safety and reduce unsafe acts and conditions.
• Support initiatives aimed at achieving zero Lost Time Incidents (LTIs) and improving overall HSE performance.
• Participate in HSE campaigns, inspections, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Undertake special projects and other responsibilities assigned by the HSE Supervisor or Agthia leadership as required.

Qualifications, Experience & Skills

• Minimum IOSH certification; NEBOSH certification is an added advantage.
• Minimum 2–3 years of relevant HSE experience in an industrial, manufacturing, food, or water sector.
• Practical understanding of occupational health and safety regulations, standards, and best practices.
• Basic knowledge of HSE management systems is an advantage.
• Knowledge of firefighting equipment, PPE, Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), work at height, confined space, and chemical safety.
• Good understanding of workplace inspections, risk assessments, incident reporting, and corrective actions.
• Strong observation, reporting, and interpersonal skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills in English and Hindi; Arabic is an advantage.
• Good ability to work as part of a team and engage effectively with operational staff.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
• Willingness and ability to work across multiple sites as required.
