Job Description

Job Purpose:

  • To ensure the effective coordination and supervision of Health, Safety, Security, and Environment (HSSE) aspects within marine operations.
  • To ensure compliance with relevant HSSE regulations, international regulations, client requirements and company policies.
  • To prevent incidents and promote a strong safety culture through regular inspections, audits, investigations, and training initiatives onboard vessels.
  • To monitor and report on HSSE performance, driving continuous improvement and ensuring the well-being of crew members

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and supervise the implementation of HSSE aspects across all marine operations. Ensure compliance with international codes, company policies, and support the DPA-CSO role.
  • Monitor, record, and investigate incidents, accidents, near misses, and deviations. Lead or support investigations to identify root causes and ensure corrective actions are taken and followed up.
  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits on vessels. Verify safety activities, inductions, and maintain safety-related documentation. Ensure continuous compliance and effective implementation of safety measures.
  • Familiarize, train, and mentor employees on HSSE procedures. Drive a strong HSSE culture within the company and participate in relevant committees
  • Maintain daily contact and coordination with various stakeholders including HSSE Officers, Vessel Masters, crew, Marine Operations, and Client HSSE personnel. Control personnel screening and provide relevant safety information.
  • Maintain and analyse key performance indicators for HSSE, preparing regular reports and contributing to continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • STCW Master/Chief mate COC or Chief Engineer / 2nd Engineer COC
  • 6-8 Years of experience
  • Offshore experience as Chief Mate or 2nd Engineer
