Our Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a warm, polished and organised Hostess to manage the guest arrival experience at the Clubhouse Restaurant.
The ideal candidate will be confident communicating with guests in person and over the telephone, comfortable managing reservations and seating arrangements, and able to maintain a smooth flow of guests throughout service.
This role requires someone who is attentive, calm and personable, with a strong sense of organisation and the ability to create a welcoming first and final impression for every guest.
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome guests warmly and professionally upon arrival at the Clubhouse Restaurant.
- Manage table reservations received in person, by telephone or through the restaurant reservation system.
- Maintain accurate and updated reservation records, guest preferences and special requests.
- Coordinate seating arrangements and table allocation to support an efficient flow of guests.
- Manage waiting lists during busy periods and provide guests with clear and accurate waiting-time updates.
- Escort guests to their tables and present menus in a polished and attentive manner.
- Communicate guest arrivals, preferences and special occasions to the service team.
- Maintain awareness of table availability, service progress and anticipated departures.
- Work closely with the F&B Supervisor and service team to manage reservations, walk-in guests and operational requirements.
- Answer telephone calls promptly and respond to restaurant enquiries professionally.
- Provide accurate information regarding menus, operating hours, promotions, events and Clubhouse facilities.
- Handle guest feedback and concerns calmly, resolving straightforward matters and escalating where required.
- Support guest recognition by recording relevant preferences and visit history.
- Maintain the cleanliness, organisation and presentation of the hostess desk and entrance area.
- Ensure menus, reservation materials and guest-facing information are clean, current and properly presented.
- Assist with menu printing, buffet labels, place cards and other restaurant materials when required.
- Support the restaurant service team during busy periods, including assisting with seating, clearing or other reasonable operational duties.
- Follow opening, closing and handover procedures for the hostess desk.
- Ensure compliance with food hygiene, health, safety and emergency procedures.
- Maintain a professional appearance and high standard of personal grooming.
- Attend departmental briefings, meetings and training sessions.
- Carry out other reasonable duties assigned by the F&B Supervisor, Outlet Manager or F&B Manager.
Qualifications & Experience
- 1-2 Years of experience working as a Hostess, Receptionist, Guest Relations Agent or in a similar guest-facing role.
- Previous experience within a restaurant, clubhouse, hotel or hospitality environment is preferred.
- Strong verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Clear and professional telephone etiquette.
- Good organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage reservations, waiting lists and guest seating efficiently.
- Comfortable using reservation systems, point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to remain calm and professional during busy service periods.
- Strong guest service and complaint-handling skills.
- Professional appearance and confident demeanour.
- Good written and spoken English.
- Additional language skills would be an advantage.
- Ability to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
