Hotel Manager / General Manager (German Speaking) - Large Luxury Renowned Hotel in Germany

This is a unique opportunity to join a prestigious luxury hotel with a strong reputation and an established team, where you will have the platform to make a significant impact—particularly in shaping a forward-thinking and dynamic Food & Beverage program—while contributing to the continued success of a landmark property.

We are seeking an accomplished and dynamic Hotel Manager / General Manager to lead operations at a large, internationally renowned luxury hotel in Germany. This is a hands-on leadership role for an experienced hospitality professional who thrives in a complex, high-profile environment and demonstrates exceptional operational, commercial, and people leadership skills.

Reporting directly to the Chief Operating Officer (COO), the successful candidate will oversee all hotel divisions with the exception of Technical Services and Finance, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations and the delivery of outstanding guest experiences aligned with luxury standards.

Qualifications & Skills

  • Fluency in German and English is essential; additional European languages are a strong asset
  • EU citizenship is required
  • Strong commercial acumen combined with hands-on operational expertise
  • Exceptional leadership and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across all levels
  • Outgoing, positive, and engaging personality with a collaborative leadership style
  • High level of maturity, professionalism, and emotional intelligence

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic and operational leadership across all hotel departments, including Rooms Division, Food & Beverage, Sales & Marketing, and Human Resources
  • Act as the driving force behind operational excellence, guest satisfaction, and financial performance
  • Lead, mentor, and inspire a well-established team, fostering a positive, collaborative, and performance-driven culture
  • Oversee and elevate the Food & Beverage offering, with a strong focus on restaurants, catering, and banqueting operations as key revenue drivers
  • Ensure alignment with brand standards while maintaining the agility to operate within a privately owned structure
  • Identify and implement innovative concepts, particularly in F&B, working with modern culinary trends and potentially renowned or specialty chefs
  • Maintain strong awareness of the European hospitality landscape, including market trends, competition, and evolving guest expectations
  • Navigate and manage unionized environments effectively, ensuring compliance with local labor laws and maintaining strong employee relations
  • Drive commercial performance through strategic planning, revenue optimization, and cost control
  • Represent the hotel externally with key stakeholders, partners, and the local community

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 10+ years of senior management experience within luxury hotels or resorts in Europe
  • Previous experience as a Hotel Manager, EAM, or General Manager, with full operational exposure preferred
  • Proven ability to independently oversee hotel operations in a large, complex property
  • Strong background in Food & Beverage, with significant experience in restaurants, catering, and banqueting; exposure to innovative or contemporary dining concepts is highly desirable
  • Experience working with an international hotel brand as well as a privately owned hotel group, demonstrating adaptability to different operating structures
  • Solid understanding of European markets, including union environments and regulatory frameworks
  • Currently based in Europe with strong regional market awareness
