Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Houbara Bird Specialist to join our wildlife and conservation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the care, breeding, health monitoring, and management of houbara birds in accordance with international conservation and animal welfare standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Monitor the health, behavior, and welfare of houbara birds.
  • Assist with breeding, incubation, chick rearing, and release programs.
  • Maintain accurate records of feeding, breeding, and medical treatments.
  • Coordinate with veterinarians and conservation staff.
  • Ensure aviaries and bird facilities are maintained to high hygiene and safety standards.
  • Support research and conservation projects related to houbara birds.
  • Train and supervise bird handlers and support staff when required.
Requirements
  • Degree or diploma in Wildlife Management, Zoology, Veterinary Science, Animal Science, or related field.
  • Minimum 3–5 years of experience working with houbara birds or similar exotic bird species.
  • Knowledge of bird breeding, nutrition, handling, and disease prevention.
  • Ability to work in outdoor and desert environments.
  • Strong observation, reporting, and teamwork skills.
  • English communication skills required; Arabic is an advantage.
Preferred Skills
  • Experience in falconry or conservation breeding programs.
  • Knowledge of avian biosecurity procedures.
  • Experience with data collection and reporting systems.
