Job Summary:
We are seeking a competent and proactive HSE Engineer to support the implementation and monitoring of project health, safety, and environmental requirements. The role will ensure compliance with applicable regulatory standards, company policies, and industry best practices while promoting a strong safety culture across all site activities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain risk registers and implement effective operational controls to protect employees, visitors, subcontractors, and the environment.
- Ensure full compliance with project HSE plans, welfare arrangements, emergency response procedures, and site-specific work instructions.
- Monitor compliance with MOHRE, ADNOC, local authority regulations, and company HSE policies.
- Conduct daily site inspections covering lifting operations, scaffolding, mechanical erection, PTW, confined space entry, and work method statements.
- Deliver HSE inductions, orientations, and awareness sessions to site personnel.
- Implement and monitor Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), including PTW, risk assessments, and WMS.
- Participate in HSE meetings and prepare Minutes of Meeting (MOM).
- Maintain accident and incident records, perform investigations, and recommend preventive measures.
- Prepare monthly HSE reports, statistics, and performance tracking against project and corporate KPIs.
- Support and participate in site HSE training programs and initiatives.
- Ensure practical implementation of H2S control measures where applicable.
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Engineering or a related field.
- NEBOSH or equivalent HSE certification.
- Additional HSE certifications will be an advantage.
Experienced:
- Minimum 810 years of overall experience, with at least 5 years in construction, fabrication, installation, or commissioning within the oil & gas or petrochemical industry.
Skills and Competencies:
- Strong knowledge of HSE management systems and regulatory compliance.
- Good auditing, inspection, and incident investigation skills.
- Effective communication, coordination, and presentation abilities.
- Ability to prepare reports, statistics, and safety documentation.
- Strong organizational and training facilitation skills.
