We are looking for an experienced and proactive
HSE Officer to support safe operations across our manufacturing facility, with particular focus on
heat stress prevention, occupational health, workplace inspections, and emergency response.
The successful candidate will play an important role in maintaining a safe working environment by monitoring workplace conditions, identifying potential hazards, implementing preventive measures, and ensuring compliance with applicable HSE requirements and company standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor and enforce HSE policies, procedures, and safety protocols across designated operational areas.
- Implement and support the Heat Stress Intervention Plan, particularly in high-risk and high-temperature work areas.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and site rounds to identify hazards, unsafe conditions, and opportunities for improvement.
- Conduct focused inspections in high-risk areas such as potrooms, baking furnaces, outdoor operational areas, and other heat-exposed locations, in line with heat-mapping requirements.
- Identify and report early signs and symptoms of heat stress and ensure appropriate preventive actions are taken.
- Ensure hydration stations, rest areas, cool rooms, and other employee welfare facilities are accessible, adequately maintained, and properly stocked.
- Coordinate the timely collection of required samples and completion of related records.
- Respond promptly and effectively to safety incidents and emergencies.
- Deliver safety training, heat-awareness sessions, toolbox talks, and pre-job briefings as required.
- Provide additional attention and guidance to new employees and employees returning to work after leave regarding heat-stress awareness and prevention.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, inspection reports, incident documentation, and related records.
- Prepare and issue a weekly Heat Stress Intervention Plan summary report.
- Collaborate with operations, shift supervisors, and other departments to ensure comprehensive safety coverage.
- Coordinate with site operational leads and shift supervisors to align work planning with hot and humid working conditions.
- Escalate identified safety gaps and improvement opportunities to the relevant shift head or supervisor on a daily basis.
- Support internal and external HSE audits and ISO management system audits.
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in HSE, preferably within a manufacturing or industrial environment.
- Strong knowledge of occupational health, workplace safety, and manufacturing-facility HSE requirements.
- Practical experience in heat-stress prevention and intervention measures.
- Good knowledge of occupational health and hygiene, including the ability to identify, evaluate, and support the control of workplace hazards such as physical, chemical, and ergonomic risks.
- Experience supporting internal audits, external audits, and ISO management system audits.
- IOSH / NEBOSH IGC certification or equivalent is preferred.
- ADOSH certification is an advantage but is not mandatory.
