Overview

The HSE Officer will be responsible for ensuring a safe and environmentally compliant workplace by identifying HSE risks, maintaining Health & Safety and Environmental Management Systems, and ensuring timely corrective actions to prevent incidents, protect employees, and minimize environmental impact.

What Will Your Day Look Like

• Implement HSE policies, procedures, and the HSE Management System (HSEMS).
• Conduct site inspections, audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations.
• Identify and report health, safety, and environmental hazards and ensure corrective actions are completed.
• Promote HSE awareness, provide workplace guidance and first aid support, and act as Fire Marshal during emergencies.
• Monitor environmental, food defense, and food security requirements.
• Track, update, and communicate HSE KPIs and maintain key HSE records.

• Ensure compliance with internal and external HSE standards and requirements.
• Reduce workplace risks through proactive monitoring, investigations, audits, and preventive actions.
• Drive continuous improvement of HSE and quality systems and processes.
• Identify opportunities to improve health, safety, environmental performance, and business value.
• Support effective resource and cost management while maintaining a safe, compliant, and sustainable workplace.

What Would Make You Successful

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor in Engineering or Science or related fields.

Minimum Experience

• 2-3 years functional experience in a large organization in similar capacity (food industry is a plus).
• Having NEBOSH International Certificate, IOSH, First Aider, Fire fighter, ISO 45001 & ISO 14001 auditor certifications or equivalent certifications will be an added advantage.

Functional Knowledge

• Knowledge of HSE legislation and its application.
