The HSE Section Head is responsible for leading Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) initiatives within our construction projects to ensure compliance with industry regulations and company standards. This role requires a proactive approach to creating a safe work environment, while promoting a culture of safety among all employees and stakeholders.
RESPONSIBILITIES- Develop, implement, and manage HSE policies, programs, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, national, and international safety regulations.
- Conduct regular site inspections and audits to identify hazards, ensure compliance, and implement corrective actions as necessary.
- Deliver comprehensive HSE training and orientation to employees and contractors regarding health and safety standards, procedures, and emergency protocols.
- Analyze incident reports and statistics to identify trends, develop action plans to mitigate risks, and enhance overall safety performance.
- Act as a liaison with regulatory agencies, ensuring timely reporting of incidents and compliance with environmental policies.
- Lead investigations into accidents and near misses, preparing detailed reports and recommendations for management.
- Collaborate with project management teams to integrate HSE practices into project planning and execution phases.
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and awareness regarding health, safety, and environmental initiatives within the workforce.
REQUIREMENTS- Bachelor's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering, or related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in HSE roles, preferably in the construction industry.
- In-depth knowledge of HSE regulations, standards, and practices relevant to the construction sector.
- Certifications such as NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent are highly desirable.
- Proven track record of developing effective HSE strategies and implementing safety programs.
- Exceptional communication and leadership skills to drive a culture of safety among diverse teams.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess risks and propose solutions.
