Job Description
WSP is seeking an experienced HSE Supervisor to support a major transport infrastructure, roads, and utilities project in Madinah. The successful candidate will be responsible for monitoring and promoting Health, Safety, and Environmental compliance across construction activities while representing the Consultant's supervision team on site.
This role requires prior consultancy supervision experience on similar infrastructure projects. Candidates with predominantly contractor-side experience or building project backgrounds will not be considered.
Responsibilities
- Monitor contractor compliance with project HSE requirements, applicable regulations, and approved safety plans.
- Conduct routine site inspections, audits, and safety observations across road and utilities construction activities.
- Identify unsafe acts and conditions and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
- Review contractor risk assessments, method statements, permit-to-work systems, and emergency response procedures.
- Participate in incident investigations and recommend corrective and preventive measures.
- Monitor compliance with environmental management requirements and project sustainability objectives.
- Maintain accurate HSE records, reports, and statistics for project management review.
- Support toolbox talks, safety campaigns, awareness programs, and site safety briefings.
- Coordinate with construction supervision teams to ensure HSE requirements are integrated into daily site operations.
- Attend project meetings and provide professional HSE guidance to stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Health & Safety, Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline.
- NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) is mandatory.
- Minimum 7+ years of HSE experience, including significant experience on transport infrastructure, roads, and utilities projects.
- Previous experience working with engineering consultants, PMC, supervision consultants, or project management consultants is mandatory.
- Strong understanding of construction safety practices related to roads, highways, utilities, earthworks, and associated infrastructure activities.
- Knowledge of Saudi regulations, international HSE standards, and best practices.
- Strong communication, reporting, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications and HSE reporting systems.
- Fluent English communication skills; Arabic language skills are advantageous.
- Contractor-only backgrounds and candidates with predominantly building construction experience will not be considered.
