Health, Safety, Environment & Quality (HSEQ) Manager

Position Overview

The HSEQ Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining BGN's Health, Safety, Environmental and Quality management systems across its offices and subsidiaries.

The role ensures compliance with ISO 9001 (Quality), ISO 14001 (Environment), and ISO 45001 (Occupational Health & Safety) standards, supports audit readiness and certification continuity, and establishes consistent, well-documented, and controlled processes across the organisation.

The position plays a key role in strengthening operational governance, ensuring workplace safety, maintaining certification credibility, and supporting BGN's relationships with clients, banks, auditors, and regulators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Establish, implement, and maintain BGN's HSEQ Management Systems in line with ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 requirements across all office locations and entities.
  • Develop, update, and control HSEQ policies, procedures, and work instructions, ensuring consistency, version control, and proper documentation management.
  • Ensure that core business and support processes are documented, applied consistently, and aligned with quality and governance requirements.
  • Plan and coordinate internal audits, support corrective and preventive actions, and ensure timely closure of audit findings.
  • Coordinate external audits, certification renewals, and surveillance audits with accredited certification bodies.
  • Prepare inputs for management reviews, including audit results, non-conformities, incidents, KPIs, and improvement actions.
  • Perform and coordinate occupational health and safety risk assessments, workplace safety reviews, and emergency preparedness activities across office locations.
  • Ensure compliance with applicable health and safety regulations in different office locations (e.g. Switzerland, EU, UAE, Trkiye, Singapore), and coordinate corrective actions where required.
  • Investigate incidents and near-misses, perform root-cause analysis, and monitor preventive measures.
  • Implement and maintain environmental management practices at office level, including energy use, waste management, and responsible resource consumption.
  • Coordinate environmental initiatives such as recycling programmes and energy-efficiency measures in collaboration with office management and service providers.
  • Collect and validate HSEQ-related data (quality, safety, environmental metrics) for internal reporting and certification purposes.
  • Organise HSEQ awareness activities and basic training to ensure employees understand applicable policies, procedures, and requirements.
  • Act as a key interface with Compliance, Internal Audit, ESG, HR, Office Management, and Operations on HSEQ-related matters.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, Environmental Management, Quality Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • 710 years of professional experience in HSE, quality, audit, or management system roles, preferably in trading, logistics, or service-based organisations.
  • Strong practical knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001, including audit and certification processes.
  • Certified Internal Auditor or Lead Auditor for ISO management systems preferred.
  • Professional HSE certifications (e.g. NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent) are an advantage.
  • Experience working in international, multi-office environments.
  • Willingness and flexibility to travel internationally as required.
  • Excellent command of English; additional languages are an asset.
