Job Description

HVAC Technician

Overview:

  • Install and secure marine refrigeration and air conditioning systems, ensuring proper functionality, alignment, and compliance with safety and operational standards. The role involves integrating mechanical and electrical components, performing system checks, and maintaining detailed installation records

Strategic and Functional Responsibilities

  • Follow installation drawings, specifications, and documentation.
  • Select appropriate tools and equipment for installation tasks.
  • Install and secure various marine refrigeration and air conditioning components.
  • Conduct checks and adjustments to ensure proper installation and functionality. Complete necessary documentation in line with organizational procedures.

Leadership Responsibilities

  • Report installation issues that cannot be resolved personally.
  • Ensure all tools and materials are accounted for post-installation.
  • Work with minimal supervision, taking responsibility for work quality and accuracy

Qualifications & Experience:

Qualifications

  • Diploma in a related field.
  • National certificate in Mechanical Engineering or closely related field.
  • Marine industrial pneumatics installation, commissioning, inspection, repair, and maintenance certification/license.

Professional Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the installation and maintenance of marine refrigeration and air conditioning systems.
  • Familiarity with health and safety regulations applicable to marine environments.

  • Proficient in interpreting technical drawings and specifications.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities in installation contexts.
  • Effective communication skills for reporting and documentation. Team player with commitment to safety and quality.

  • Integrity and motivation in carrying out installation tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of IMO & IACS requirements, particularly SOLAS and IACS UI SC.
  • Certification by recognized industry standards for maintenance and repair of marine equipment.
