Industrial Plant Design Engineer

Position Overview

The successful candidate will be responsible for the design, development and coordination of industrial utilities and technological systems for manufacturing plants and industrial facilities. The role covers engineering activities from concept and detailed design through technical support during construction and commissioning.

Main Responsibilities

The selected candidate will provide day-to-day administrative and organizational support to the project team, including:

•Design industrial utility systems including industrial and potable water, compressed air, technical gases, HVAC/VMC, wastewater, industrial piping, electrical and special systems, fire protection, lighting, photovoltaic and energy systems.

•Perform sizing calculations for utility networks and related equipment.

•Develop layouts, P&IDs, functional diagrams and technical drawings.

•Prepare technical reports, specifications, calculations and Bills of Quantities.

•Produce engineering documentation using AutoCAD and, where applicable, BIM/Revit.

•Coordinate multidisciplinary engineering activities and perform clash/interference checks.

•Provide technical support during procurement, construction and commissioning.

•Support Project Managers in resolving technical issues throughout the project lifecycle.

Mandatory Qualifications & Skills

•Degree in Mechanical, Energy, Industrial Engineering or equivalent.

•Experience in industrial plant engineering and utility systems design.

•Knowledge of network sizing methodologies.

•Ability to read and develop layouts, P&IDs and functional diagrams.

•Proficiency in AutoCAD.

•Ability to prepare technical documentation and engineering reports.

•Strong problem-solving skills and project management attitude.

•Good technical English.

Preferred Qualifications

•Knowledge of BIM and Revit MEP.

•Experience with industrial piping, compressed air and technical gas systems.

•Experience in industrial electrical systems, fire protection and energy projects.

•Knowledge of engineering calculation software.

•Industrial site and commissioning experience.

•EPC project experience.

Assignment

The assignment is expected to start in October 2026 and will have an initial duration of three (3) months up to twelve (12) months. The workplace will be located in Cairo, Egypt.
