Job Summary
The Network Manager is responsible for overseeing the organization's IT network infrastructure, ensuring high performance, security, and availability of LAN, WAN, and VPN systems. The role involves leading a team of network engineers, managing network projects, maintaining security standards, and ensuring efficient network operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain LAN/WAN/VPN infrastructure including routers, switches, firewalls, and wireless networks.
- Monitor network performance, availability, and security using network monitoring tools.
- Ensure maximum network uptime and performance optimization.
- Develop and enforce network security policies, firewalls, IDS, and access controls.
- Troubleshoot and resolve escalated network and system issues.
- Lead and supervise network engineers and administrators, including performance management and mentoring.
- Plan and execute network upgrades, expansions, and migrations.
- Manage vendors, ISPs, and service providers, including SLAs and contracts.
- Maintain network documentation, diagrams, and policies.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Network Engineering.
- 7–10 years of experience in network administration/engineering.
- Minimum 3–5 years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, wireless, VPNs, and firewalls.
- Experience with network monitoring tools such as SolarWinds, Wireshark, or similar.
- Knowledge of scripting (Python, Bash, or similar) is a plus.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Good communication and vendor management skills.
