Job Description: IT Support Specialist

Overview

We are seeking an experienced IT Support Specialist to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining and supporting our IT infrastructure, ensuring seamless day-to-day operations for our employees. This role requires hands-on experience across a range of technologies and a strong customer-service mindset.

Key Responsibilities

  • Active Directory Management: Administer and configure Active Directory, including user and group management, GPOs, and authentication mechanisms.
  • Microsoft 365 / Office Applications Support: Provide support for Microsoft 365, including Exchange Online, Teams, SharePoint, and Office applications; assist with user administration and troubleshooting.
  • Network Skills & Troubleshooting: Diagnose and resolve basic TCP/IP networking issues; manage IP addressing, subnetting, and connectivity troubleshooting.
  • User IT Support: Serve as the primary point of contact for user incidents and requests; deliver prompt and efficient technical support for hardware and software issues.
  • Network Security: Implement and support network security practices, including managing firewalls, VPNs, antivirus solutions, and ensuring compliance with security guidelines.
  • Hardware and Software Troubleshooting: Identify, diagnose, and resolve hardware failures, OS malfunctions, and software/application errors.
  • IoT Device Support: Assist in configuring, securing, and maintaining IoT devices deployed in the organization.

Required Skills & Experience

  • Proven experience with Active Directory administration.
  • Hands-on experience supporting and troubleshooting Microsoft 365 and Office applications.
  • Strong grasp of TCP/IP networking fundamentals and problem-solving.
  • Experience providing frontline IT support to end-users.
  • Basic knowledge of network security principles and tools.
  • Proficiency in diagnosing and fixing hardware and software issues.
  • Familiarity with common IoT devices and related protocols.

Qualifications

  • Degree or certification in IT, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • 2+ years in an IT support or systems administration role.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft, CompTIA, Cisco) are a plus.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
