Duties & Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain complex 3D infrastructure models ( wet/dry utilities, and related civil works) using Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, Autodesk Inventor and other relevant BIM software.
- Translate engineering designs: Accurately interpret 2D engineering drawings, design concepts, and technical specifications, converting them into detailed 3D BIM models and 2D construction documentation.
- Manage model data: Ensure all modeled elements contain the correct parametric data and metadata required for lifecycle management and project delivery.
- Perform clash detection: Utilize Navisworks to run regular spatial coordination checks between different infrastructure disciplines (e.g., utilities intersecting with structural or road foundations).
- Facilitate constructability: Identify design conflicts early in the process, generate clear clash reports, and proactively propose engineering solutions to resolve modeling issues before construction begins.
Project Controls & Construction Support
- Quantity extraction: Extract accurate material quantities (MTO/BOQ) directly from the BIM models to support the estimation, procurement, and construction planning teams.
- Construction sequencing: Apply basic project management principles to support 4D modeling, linking 3D models to construction schedules to visualize and validate site sequencing and methods.
Quality Assurance & Standards Compliance
- Ensure compliance: Validate that all BIM models, workflows, and project deliverables strictly adhere to the project's BIM Execution Plan (BEP) and established industry standards (such as ISO 19650 frameworks).
- Model health checks: Conduct regular audits of the infrastructure models to verify design integrity, accuracy, and optimal file performance.
Collaboration & Communication
- Cross-functional teamwork: Work closely and communicate effectively with design engineers, site contractors, and project management teams to ensure seamless model integration across the project lifecycle.
Qualifications:
- Strong proficiency in BIM software and tools (e.g., Autodesk Civil 3D, Navisworks, or similar) and ability to manage complex infrastructure models.
- Experience with infrastructure design and coordination, including roads, utilities, or related civil works within large-scale projects.
- Skills in model validation, clash detection, and quantity extractio to support design integrity and construction planning.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications and translate them into accurate BIM models and documentation.
- Solid understanding of BIM standards, protocols, and workflows, ideally within ISO or project-specific frameworks.
- Relevant academic background, such as a bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work closely with design, site, and project management teams.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving capabilities, and ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced project environment.
- Previous experience in infrastructure projects in Egypt or the MENA region is an advantage.
- Familiarity with project management practices and basic understanding of construction sequencing and methods is beneficial.
- Having 1+ years of experience working on infrastructure projects.
