Infrastructure Engineer

JOB PURPOSE:

The Infrastructure Engineer manages and coordinates all utility work along with engineering activities throughout the project lifecycle. He will supervise & execute work in coordination with MEP/ civil design team, ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory requirements, oversee technical reviews, and support project delivery from concept design through construction and handing over.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:

• Coordinate with planning to ensure the timely start and finish of all activities.
• Supervise earthworks, roads, drainage, sewerage, stormwater, potable water, irrigation, utility ducts, and related civil works.
• Review drawings, method statements, material submittals, inspection and test plans, technical queries, and requests for information for compliance with project requirements.
• Review contractor Inspection Requests and Material Inspection Requests and verify that approved materials and procedures are used.
• Check setting-out, levels, alignments, trenching, pipe laying, chambers, backfilling, compaction, road layers, kerbs, and asphalt works.
• Witness compaction, pressure, leakage, CCTV, flushing, disinfection, and asphalt tests.
• Monitor progress, resources, sequencing, and interfaces and report delays, constraints, and completion risks.
• Identify defects and non-conformities, issue Field Observations, and verify closure of corrective actions.
• Coordinate contractors, inspectors, surveyors, other disciplines, authorities, and utility providers on clashes, diversions, tie-ins, and access.
• Monitor compliance with approved quality, health and safety, and environmental requirements.
• Prepare reports and maintain accurate inspection, testing, progress, and photographic records.
• Review as-built drawings and close-out documents and support snagging and handover.
• Attend meetings: coordination, progress, quality and safety.
• Review and interpret project drawings, specifications, and BOQs.
• Coordinate with consultants, clients, and subcontractors to ensure technical compliance.
• Supervise on-site infrastructure works and ensure adherence to quality, safety, and schedule.
• Prepare as-built drawings and technical reports.
• Support design team by providing technical inputs.
• Ensure compliance with local authority (DM, RTA, DEWA, TAQA, ADM, ADSSC, ITC etc.) regulations.
• Identify design issues and recommend cost-effective engineering solutions.
• Promote quality, health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards throughout project execution.
• Supervise, mentor, and develop engineering and design teams while managing resource allocation and performance.

EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATION:

• Minimum Qualification: Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, Civil engineering or a related field.
• Minimum Experience: 4-5 years.

SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE & ABILITIES:

• Job Specific: Strong leadership and team management capabilities. Familiar with local authority standards and approval procedures.
• Generic Skills: Good communication and interpersonal skills, Computer literacy (MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, email).
