MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
The Innovation Manager leads innovation initiatives, orchestrating hackathons, open innovation programs, and ground-up idea development. The role focuses on transforming early-stage innovations into viable business solutions that drive strategic growth, patient impact, and long-term sustainability within the healthcare ecosystem. By cultivating research alliances, embedding rigorous ethics and governance, and crafting commercial go-to-market playbooks, the role transforms high-potential concepts into scalable, revenue-generating solutions that deliver lasting clinical, financial, and social value.
To drive innovation within Mediclinic by fostering a culture of creativity, supporting ground-up initiatives, facilitating commercialization, and advancing research and business sustainability programs that align with the organization's strategic goals.
KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS
- Innovation Program Management: Run hackathons, accelerators, and open-innovation challenges that surface deployable solutions ready for rapid adoption and to foster creative problem-solving.
- Ground-Up Innovation and Proof-of-Concept Development: Support and fast track ideas through small-scale pilots, gather real-world evidence, and convert successful pilots into live deployments.
- Research and Business Sustainability: Leverage academic and industry collaborations to validate use cases, drive research, and design initiatives that ensure long-term clinical, financial, and social impact.
- Platform Development & Deployment: Oversee the design, testing validation, and seamless integration of off-the-shelf or partner-provided platforms into existing clinical and business workflows.
- Commercialisation & Scaling: Create go-to-market playbooks, secure stakeholder buy-in, and manage large-scale roll-outs to maximise adoption, revenue.
REQUIRED EDUCATION
ESSENTIAL EDUCATION
- Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, Innovation Management, Health Sciences, or a related field.
DESIRED EDUCATION
- Certifications in Innovation Management, Design Thinking, Lean Startup.
REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- 5+ years leading innovation programs, open innovation challenges, or business incubation, preferably in healthcare.
- Experience in organizing hackathons, commercialization of early-stage innovations, and business sustainability initiatives.

- Ability to visualize and design system delivery for new projects
